Glitter
I have decided that I just really love glitter. I have not used it much in the past but in the last week or so I have used it on two cards that I made and one card that I received utilized glitter and I love the way they look. Now, I've used purchased embellishments and paper that was glittery but my actual "glittering" has been limited. However, I am not so enamored of the mess that goes along with glitter. I try to contain the mess by using a special tray but somehow, I still end up with glitter on my desk, my hands, my clothes, and in my hair. In spite of the mess, I plan on using glitter in more of my projects. I foresee glittery carpet in the craft closet!

cybercrops
I belong to an online group that gets together a couple of times a month (online) to scrap. This group is an offshoot of another group called Scrap From Your Stash. The SFYS group has helped me save money in that I feel like I'm cheating if I purchase something when I have something in my stash that could have worked just as well. All members of the cyber-cropping group are also members of the SFYS group. These folks are very talented and creative and being associated with them has encouraged me to create more scrapbook pages and cards in the 2 months that I have been a member than I have ever done in any 2 month period in the past. I also find the challenges they suggest to be very inspiring. I am grateful to be a part of those groups. I will be posting here the pages that I have completed during the cyber-crops as well as other projects I have completed.
My first swap!
This is a card I created for my first swap. We were required to use purple and green in our creations. I received an absolutely beautiful card in this swap from Diana Stewart.
That was easy.....
I had been wondering for some time how to change the name of this blog since I decided to use it more for my paper-crafting than my mental meanderings. Turns out to be a really simple operation. Who knew?
Today I am going to dig through the craft closet looking for things to include in a "craft" box that I will then mail off to someone on the Scrapbooking Rooms group to which I belong. It will be a "Round Robin" sort of thing. The recipient will take out whatever she likes and then add some stuff she's not using and mail the box on to the next recipient. Great way to get rid of stuff that is not being used. The principle is, "One woman's trash is another woman's treasure." I'll be looking forward to getting the box back eventually and seeing what is in there.

Spring, Oh Spring, wherefore art thou?
I am yearning for Spring with the beautiful Carolina Blue skies and warm temps. I miss those days when the air feels soft on your skin. I miss the early evening driveway parties and visiting with neighbors. I miss sitting in my backyard swing with a good book, a cool beverage, and tunes playing on my iPod. Hurry Spring!!!

Late birthday card
Wow! I did it!
I can't believe it! I actually got the background changed. Now THAT, right there, is a surprise.

Hopefully I'll do better in 2010
I really have no idea what I am doing with this. I have promised myself that I will try to learn how to make a blog AND keep up with it. So far .... not so good. I tried to change the background, which I did successfully. The only problem is that I don't really like the background now that I see it on this blog. I have tried, unsuccessfully to change it 3 times this evening. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.
I hope to be able to use this blog to post photos of my scrapbook layouts and cards. If I get it all figured out, it will be another surprise!
